we’re live!
I did have an issue earlier in the stream where YT wasn’t updating the live chat window at all – had to close and reopen the page to see all the other texts. YT can be quite quirky at times.
We’re live tonight at 6:30pm EDT to give our impressions of the Halo Infinite Tech Test, drop any questions you have below!
Why haven’t I been on yet?
Question for the steaktacular panel
Why don’t you ever have on any bald brittish guys that excel at finding lost kittens and creating Forge maps?
Because we normally go on at 1am your time! Tonight though it’s 11:30pm
So you’re paraphrasing the real answer of because he’s old ???
I hate how after 8 hours it’s still not cached properly, I get buffering even on 144p >.<
YT has been quite horrible lately. It’s been defaulting to only 720p for the past 4 days regardless of the video and has been dropping to 144p completely randomly the past 10 days. The worst part is once it drops it never increases on its own. If I then manually set it to 1080p It’s fine for some time until the next random drop.
It’s only YT, as the others have been fine with other streams like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Paramount+. I havent watched YoutubeTV much lately, so don’t know if that’s having the same issues as regular YT since it shares infrastructure.
This is happening lately with a lot of of YT videos, and is very annoying.
YT is doing strange things. You will NOT see a download button when this problem occurs. .There is some internal sync problem at Youtube. It subsides after a few hours.
I think their CDN servers are struggling and straggling – picking up the original content.
Netflix and Prime are on AWS infra.
Disney is on Azure
And Youtube is of course Google Cloud. But even then, it depends on how they have configured their cdn servers now in this continuously streaming world. I think they might be struggling just a bit. Doing videos versus doing live streaming videos is different.
Question for Blue Team: Which group is being more unreasonable, the ones who want Infinite to release 2021 as-is, despite co-op having to come later, maybe because it means less to them than others? Or the ones who want to delay the whole game for everyone, because they want it to launch with co-op in, because it means a lot to them?
I say this because, I don’t think the latter group fully realizes what they’re asking for. Especially the people who are telling tales of playing with their dad, or son, or siblings and how much co-op means to them. They wax poetic about their past histories, while silmultaneously calling for the majority who just want the game ASAP, to have to wait, because of their very personal situation
To me, it’s incredibly selfish. Almost like “if I have to wait, everyone should”
Yeah, the melodramatic “I played Halo CE in coop so Earth could shatter but I must play it so day one” is unbelievably selfish and unrealistic.
Been a while since I had a question for the best Halo podcast on XboxEra, but here goes:
After playing Psychonauts 2 and seeing how incredibly polished that game is, it’s one of those games where you don’t wonder when the first patch are going to drop -it’s that good, I couldn’t help but think about the other upcoming first party titles. I expect almost the same level of polish from Forza Horizon 5, even though online components always mess things up a bit. But first impressions really do make a difference. Do you think the Halo singleplayer campaign will live up to this new Xbox standard, or is it coming in too hot? Seeing how Double Fine used its extra time and resources to polish their game, should we expect the same from 343i? How important do you think this is for Halo?
Why do you think they didn’t show the gameplay to the public that they showed behind the scenes
Yeah, right ? Because there’s an obvious trolling aspect to Halo. It’s fun to troll the game and its fans. Like everything about it, you can be overtly outraged and negative about every tiny thing, just like sprint or smart scope, which funnily doesn’t work since the tech test, so they have to find something else to be negative about.
I’ve read some wild wild takes about 343i and how MS should shut them down at this point, like “cut the kangaroo’s legs” (i don’t know what that means). It’s so blatantly disgusting and reads like drunken gibberish. I’m just laughing at this whole thing.
I think you can have a reasonnable take and don’t like how 343i advertising is kind of concerning and how Staten is everywhere to reassure fans. I just raised an eyebrow when he said they will launch SP and MP together at ONL, like it wasn’t before ?? But you have to actually pay attention to a game you don’t care, so…
Game is launching in december. Let’s go… Let’s finish the fight, it’s just draining…
Joe’s statement about them launching together was directly to respond to the rumors, that were regurgitated without merit, that they’d launch separately. 343i has had their hands on the pulse of the community/online narratives much better this go round, so just like what we see with their response on Craig, we’re seeing the same with Staten coming out to dispel false information.
Oh ok. It just sounded like the opposite to me ! It’s why they won’t reassure people. They just can’t until the game launches.
