Hey now, they have thrown all the devs at this. Both of them.
I hate to be critical but they already nailed this in Season 3…the new maps should be prominent in every mode. Last season when you jumped into BTB you quickly got into a match with a new map.
Also I do like the idea of community doubles because it showcases some maps that were designed for 2v2. I like seeing these new maps so I try it out. But I don’t like how it seems to be one or the other for community playlists.
Also I’ve noticed there are two extremes with community doubles. It’s either super sweaty or your teammate is playing blindfolded. I just want an experience where people are sincere but also not overly competitive. I don’t care if my teammate is bad at the game, as long as they try and aren’t standing by a power up spawn that is 30 seconds away while staring at the sky and spinning their character around.
I realize that they don’t want a large number of playlists, and that there isn’t much of a player population to justify more playlists, but I have to say that some weeks there isn’t much for me as a social player who likes seeing new content.
Hopefully one day we do see a player base large enough to warrant subsections like “Ranked”, “Social”, and “Community” with 8 or so playlists for each.
Infection is fun, though I’ve never really enjoyed it as a MM mode - much better in customs, for me.
Scarr feels quite Halo 4 in feel/styling, and was fun to play - only once so far. Forest is exciting: looks/sounds great, and have had some really good matches on it already.
Main gripe: the Ranked Slayer playlist has all the Arena maps in it. Good. Ranked Arena, being tied to HCS, does not. Boo. I’d really like a proper HCS-settings (BRs/no radar/FF) playlist that uses the full range of maps and modes in Infinite, rather than the narrower pool used in e-sports.
I always assumed that if they were going to eventually drop the Xbox One as the game kept going, they’d have to split Campaign and MP apart so that Campaign could continue to run (and have a separate patch sequence/title id) on the One but MP could become Series only. This would be the first step if you were aiming to do such a thing.
Anyone feel they nerfed the Assault Rifle?
I feel like the range and damage was reduced after playing last night.
If the next halo comes out at the boundary between next gen and this gen. I want it to be next gen only.
I myself think it’s going to be nextGen only because I can’t really see it be ready in time for launch.
If they did, then that sucks. The AR was the strongest it’s been since 5, having it nerfed now is just going to enforce the no autos mentality that the previous games pushed.
If they go back to wide linear and scrap open world I can see it being ready at launch.
Maybe I just sucked yesterday, but I was unloading entire clips.
Nothing in the patch notes about AR nerf that I recall, and can’t say I noticed anything different myself last night. Indeed, on Scarr some scrub AR’d me in record time from mid-range, I was very annoyed…!
I’m thinking it won’t, mostly because they need to hire a new campaign team, I don’t think they can move anyone from MP to campaign for a while.
Rework UE to do what they want to do with it, I guess if this is something they can skip it would help or use which ever version CA is supposed to be using.
There’s also the allocating of contractors, HI MP is going to need enough to keep the game running, so we don’t really know how many are going to be on campaign development only.
This makes me very happy to hear.

That’s what I enjoy about halo^^ with the rise of cod, auto became the norm for so many shooters and I like half auto much more.
Precision weapons are great, Halo 5 Pistol is my all-time favorite weapon, but literally making autos useless just to force it sucks. The TTK, also favors precision weapons imo, as body shots followed by a headshot will always beat autos body shotting.
Are the HCS Store Bundles the only way to receive the Acriveia Battle Rifle variant? Looks so sick.
