I give it a couple months before they start calling for the new heads to be fired because they think thatā€™ll help. People donā€™t have a clue what is going on internally at these companies, they just see a name at the top of the pile and they become the target.

As for the rest, it really looks like they are restructuring the studio, even more than they allready have of course. I think this will be very good for Halo, good things ahead!

She absolutely is scapegoated in the same exact ways (and for the same reasons) as Ellen Pao was while she led Reddit. There is a ton of misogyny in the gaming industry and community. Very grateful for our community for not being a reflection of the rest of the gaming sphereā€¦ you all are incredible.

I cant wait for all the ā€˜Condolencesā€™ from people who were frothing at the mouth for her to be fired.

It is interesting the role is split up into 3, or were the other two coincidental?

I thought she did a pretty good job for the most part, but Iā€™ve always felt Halo is a franchise that wonā€™t satisfy all and you have to make sacrificed to disappoint some. Anyways, she paid the price of toxicity for being the face behind the franchise but i felt some of Halo shortcoming was due to Microsoft as a whole structure, but I found each 343 game were solid, but just didnā€™t find the perfect balance to satisfy the MP/SP crowd.

Anyways, tough shoes to walk into for whoever fills her role because Halo is probably one of the most rabid franchise in gaming industry.

I donā€™t know if anyone outside of 343 can really speak to if this is a good thing or not, Iā€™m certainly not going to speculate - but I do hope that itā€™s a positive thing that the role is now being split between 3 people who can give their duties more time than any one person could.

Honestly, I think if they just keep going down their current path - theyā€™ll get it. The core of the game is great, they just need to get a faster content release schedule (which is happening, season 3 is slated to last 3 months), get forge and co-op out (scheduled for november) and fix the stuff that people donā€™t like (which is on-going but the biggest of which is also scheduled for november with the new progression system beta). I think weā€™ll reach a point where it really turns around and starts gaining traction again, and itā€™ll just be from doing exactly what theyā€™ve been doing for a while now. Itā€™s a shame some will view this as vindication of their views of Bonnie Ross.
