Where did they have that number?
We donât even know if 343 Industries will call it just beta.
The tweet from Ske7ch said thereâs 6 figures (100,000+) worth of people who have signed up but havenât completed the process so theyâre ineligible to receive invites to the Technical Preview/Flighting/Beta/whatever you want to call it. I think theyâre just calling it a beta as something thatâs easier to understand than trying to figure out what Flighting or a Technical Preview is without context.
The weirder thing that this is something to be taken out of context as the number of people signed up. Surely they understand that there has to be, conservatively, 250,000 at least that have signed up, right? I wouldnât be surprised if there were closer to half a mil or more, but thatâs completely speculative.
Well he says six figures worth of people who havenât finished all steps to sign up, heâs not talking about the ones who have. So for all we know there could be 280k people who havenât correctly signed up and 300k people who have. I think we can take from this that clearly Halo isnât âdeadâ that some people like to say.
100k+ are incorrectly signed up. Seeing as itâs supper easy to sign up and the main page tells you in highlighted words of you did it right. I would guess thereâs between 1/2 and 2 million people correctly signed up.
Itâs pointless to speculate. Firstly we donât know if itâs 100k or 500k who signed up incorrectly. And then we donât know what percentage of people signed up correctly though I would guess itâs between 60 and 90%.
So to me the range of players signed up are between 250k and 5 million.
My guess itâs probably much higher than the 100,000 number
I wonder what their engagement numbers were from the internal flighting they had last weekend for Microsoft employees. Also what work if any theyâve identified to improve.
There was internal flighting last weekend?
To my knowledge itâs closest we have been(by far) to the last Thursday of the month without them telling us what the topic will be.
Hoping itâs because of flighting. I can definitely see us playing it either by the end of the month or a week or 2 thereafter.
To my knowledge they have been doing it for a around a month or so.
Ah ok
The sign up push was after the Fourth Holiday for last weekend while looking to have targeted Microsoft employees.
That could be
Theyâve been doing it since around February.
I am one of the fools that didnât have communications enabled for monthsâŚ
I was one of those fools as well.
You donât need that enabled. It wouldnât put you in with the 100k+ other people who wonât be able to play the infinite tests. I had communications disabled but Iâve still been doing the mcc flights. Just means they wonât email you about it, you will only get a message about it on waypoint.
I canât remember where I saw it but I know for a fact they said that you need to have your communications on in order to be eligible. Iâd do it just in case, even if the emails are annoying.
unyshek (sp?) said in a twitter thread that YES you do need it enabled. For Infinite, at least.
