Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

The ultimate challenge for me was win 5 ranked matches. Never played ranked before but I have to say, it was a lot of fun.

I was placed Platinum 4 after my 10 matches. Its nice to have a playlist where people actually play the objective

Yeah, I am not sure if I won as many games. And in the last match, we only had 2 players on our team. And that has been happening consistently since then. At this point, though I am only playing ranked for the BR starts. But honestly, after getting into ranked yesterday for the first time, I can’t believe how sweaty I play. It’s thrilling as hell. The BR in this game feels godly. Easily the best BR in Halo. The gunplay in this game is just something else. I can’t imagine going back to past halo games and not feel the stark difference.

Did some expireimenting, audio-wise in multiplayer this morning. Can confirm Windows Sonic is the way to go right now

Which sucks because Atmos’ audio quality is so much better…for what you can hear. What you can’t hear is pretty vital though. Sonic made everying happening in the 50% space that resides behind you actually come through nice and clear.

DTS was also better than Atmos for that, but still pretty muffled compared to Windows Sonic. Which is odd, because DTS was what I used during the flights and it was so much better then. I really hope they get this all fixed soon

Halo Infinite really deserves PS5’s 3D audio…

There is still litterally no visual or resolution difference between quality and performance mode on Sereis S for this game. The only difference is quality is at 30fps. What is going on there?

It will make you a better player :mhm:

I still can’t play BTB rn. Are they really not gonna fix that until next year?

All other playlists work fine and BTB before worked. Wonder what happened there

The Road…

The Scorpion…

The music…

It’s 100% about winning, your performance is irrelevant. The ranking system decides which team is supposed to win based on ur ranking. If your the underdog and win you go up extra. If ur underdog and loose go down less. If your team is favored and you win, you barely go up at all, if favored and loose you go down a lot.

I wish performance was a factor but unfortunately it isn’t.

As far as placement goes it depends who they match you against. Diamond 1 is the highest rank they will place you in. If you play against all diamonds/and onyx and you win half your matches you should be diamond. Conversely you could play all gold, win 80% and still not be diamond.

Lol

I remember how long time ago, one of complaints for Resident Evil 5 was the cutscene wasn’t real time as no matter what, you’ll always carried a pistol. Funny how that was a flaw, but yes, it is impressive when it is real time.

Finished the game.

Now having existential crisis as I wait for the next Campaign chapter to get the next part of the story.

I feel like the campaign could have skipped one of the latter chapters. Took entirely too many missions to get down the big structure then back to the surface for the race to the end. Cut that one mission just climbing back out before you get another mission after you go through a portal to still have to grind to get back to the surface. Would have smoothed out the experience IMO.

The issue with more meaty campaign additions is that the gaps in storytelling they hopefully will aim to fill in should be able to be self contained and small-ish on their own. Think: Hivebusters. Also, more importantly for 343, they need to make sure ppl have new things to look forward to in the game as a GaaS title.

MS will wanna be sure those folks stay subbed to GP as well. So a 2 yr wait is likely not even an option. This isn’t ODST-scale stuff, it would be smaller. Not to say larger expansions won’t come, but in terms of the next SP content I bet it will be smaller and come sooner than most expect. Remember that tons of content got cut so it isn’t like they are starting from scratch there.

This is verging on spoilers. There’s a spoiler thread.

Yea we kinda already know what’s next in terms of area and story what not

I think most people expect GaaS stuff (aka constant support) from the mp side, GP-wise this Halo is its own thing, being a f2p title. Hell, most of the biggest streamers are screaming about a BR mode which will be incredible, I think they should give it a real shot to break Halo into the new generations, kids like that kind of gameplay and Halo would be so much better than Warzone, with real vehicles and actual physics, lol. Considering sp player support, I think 1 or 2 year is the same GP-wise: nobody keeps subscribing only because of the promise of a sp DLC of any game, also we don’t know it they will be included in GPU (I reckon they won’t). Anyway, we’ll see, also maybe the first DLC will be sooner than later because they’ll use all the stuff scrapped from the main campaign.

My only concern about the GaaS thing in Halo is… the lack of a public roadmap or clear acknowledgement that halo is a gaas game.

We do know that mp halo will be GaaS because we expect it as part of a f2p + battle pass seasons business model. Yet they don’t communicate how and when to expect updates. Will there be new maps/weapons mid-season? Shall we wait until end of season to get bigger updates? Randomly added to the game as soon as content is created?

And w.r.t. sp halo… they never told us there will be updates… but constantly communicate that “launch is just the beginning”. Why are they afraid of saying this will be a GaaS game? Or is it still a pending decision based on game reception? I personally don’t see new story content until season 3, as I expect season 1 to include coop and a revamp of progression (e.g. coop-related challenges) and season 2 focus will be forge. So end of 2022 at the earliest… but Starfield will be released by then.

They’ve said next month they will show a roadmap and also they have said the game is going to be a 10 year game AKA it’s a gaas game, like you said they’ve already said the launch is just the begining. They have already trademarked the first DLC, we’ve had our first battlepass and seasonal event and we have another one soon.

They’re 100% going to make a BR game, I would be shocked if they haven’t started already.

I think they should give an approximate in january, let’s say: Q1 we’ll add these things, fixes, etc, Q2 coop, season 2, Q3 forge, Q4 sp dlc. Maybe they can save something for E3 announce, but a general roadmap would calm down the most volatile fringes of the community.

I hope so, not for me (I don’t like much the format), but for Halo’s sake, the current mp is still too hardcore (even if it’s a console mp in its roots) for most people who play Warzone and Fortnite. I think DrDisrespect said they were experimenting a BR with a crazy 2-300 people count. Imagine a subset of the current map, it will be already perfect, with all the vehicles and verticality. Also, othe than copying the lame parachute jump of ALL BRs, they can use Forerunners transports or Pelican drops, to add the Halo flavor in the formula.
