Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

I think a lot of us here have already seen this video lol, but yeah, still recommended for those still on the fence about the whole Battle Royale in Halo debate.

Last night towards the end of YHMAH Podcast, @Shpeshal_Nick showed up in chat and was going on about Halo Infinite early release and shadow drops. Some may have thought him to be drunk, but it would be mid morning for him. And we joked that there were already articles being written up about it.

I think it’d be silly to surprise drop Halo multiplayer when Forza is still doing its thing.

You can definitely say halo came together at the end. Can you put battlefield in the same category…. I don’t think so. It’s ok, definitely could have used more time in the oven I think.

I must have really lucked out yesterday, had almost no issues in roughly 4 hours of playtime. Servers mostly broken today or is it just crap outside of the Series version?

No servers are fine. But I’m just talking about the part where you said it plays great. IMO it’s one of the weakest entries in the series. Reviews also are not glowing. Last I checked it’s reviewing lower than battlefield 1.

the review process for the game was a joke and an idiotic move by EA. The game plays fantastically, a perfect mix of BF5 and 4’s gunplay to me.

Sure, but the game just came out of the shadows after a long delay, so I’m not sure how reasonable it is to presume that there’s just one type of environment because we haven’t been shown more. I’m seeing a lot of people already taking that for granted, which is something that I’m finding very puzzling. No Halo game has ever shown us all of its environments before the launch, so I don’t see why Infinite would suddenly buck that trend.

343i have already told us what to expect - PNW with different sub-biomes - and the concept art that they released just before the first multiplayer test seems to be in line with that. I also don’t understand the sentiment that it’s somehow not proper Halo unless it’s a galaxy-spanning adventure. I’m not sure if it was Alex or someone else who said something to that effect, but I don’t understand where that’s coming from. Sure, Halo 2, 3, and 5 fit the bill, but Halo CE, ODST, and Reach took place in more confined areas, with Halo 4 falling somewhere in the middle.

Anyway, the game is out in a few weeks, soon everything will be revealed.

But it’s valid to voice a concern, right? I hope I’m proved wrong, but I think we have probably seen the ā€˜sub biomes’ already.

PNW with lush grass and pine trees.

PNW with dusty ground, also pine trees.

PNW mountainous, with a view of pine trees.

PNW gravelly/rocky with dead pine trees.

Plus, hexagons.

I think that’s it for outside, but I am hoping some diversity in the interiors is going to help balance that out.

It’s valid to voice concerns, although I personally think that it’s far too early to be seriously concerned. What’s not so valid is to treat it as a done deal and act like the sky is falling, which is what I’ve been seeing lately.

In my opinion we’ve only seen one, maybe two exterior sub-biomes, and they don’t include the sub-biomes that 343i have talked about earlier this year. There’s already far more diversity on the concept art pieces that I posted earlier, and even more on those that I did not post. So no, I don’t think think that we’ve seen everything yet, not by a long shot.

Biome wise, I’m far beyond expecting anything other than what we’ve already seen in the trailers and overviews. Would be great if I was wrong for sure.

Yeah the way they did that and the extremely limited time they gave reviewers to play the different modes was preview type stuff. No one should have been putting out reviews and scores. Regardless of how they scored it

Hell, EGM gave it a 10 and though I’m loving the game so far, I think it’s embarassing that they did that after having such a controlled and narrow experience with it

Double post

I don’t believe it but a 3 weeks early access for the MP if you’re a Game Pass suscriber would sure be a way to increase the numbers of suscribers a lot (and capitalize on the MP even if it’s F2P on December 8 and don’t need Game Pass to play it ultimately).

I would be MS, seeing what happened with FH5, I would do it lol.
