Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

The screenshots look fucking dope! :fire:

But I suspect I’m not alone in thinking the night time could be a lot darker.

Here for example, the scene is amazing, the imposing banished structure in the back and this UNSC base in the front, and a starry sky, just great, only thing - it looks like my light pollution ridden city neighborhood and not this mystical object in space at night with mystery and natural wonder.

So I took this to myself and went to photoshop and made a few tweaks, and got this.

I think this would be the right levels of light to have at night. Still preserving the starry “moonlight” feel (in fact the stars are visible more now) but also making the whole thing more realistically darker & having the artificial lights pop more in the fog of the night.

Whaddyall think?

Agreed!

But still to this day with many games I find the nighttime too bright, and sometimes HDR makes it even worse. RDR2 being a good example of that.

Do yourselves a favor. Put on some headphones. Crank the volume up. And got to where he blows up the Banshee with the Wasp at about 2:12 of the trailer

The sound is so fucking booming and incredible

It’s an improvement, but I do feel like the blacks are hella crushed here. Maybe in HDR it’ll sort out

HDR will be available at launch right?

I am so ashamed that I am disowning you, post haste

we can stll game share, though

I thinking we don’t how far along in to the evening, or night this screenshot was taken and your making an assumption

Your photoshop looks cool as hell, none the less

Where’s that coming from?

That’s low to be sure. 8-9 arena maps and 2-3 btb maps. If it’s 11 that’s less than I expected. I expected 13-14 maps and hoped for 16-17.

It’s about average for a Halo game, no? Technically Halo 5 launched with a lot but it had odd maps where some were just mirror images and of course you had Breakout.

8-9 arena mapa and 3 BTB maps at launch would be fine, especially as I suspect we will be seeing maps being added quite regularly due to ongoing support.

11 would be ok. If Halo 3 can get GOAT status with that many maps, so can Infinite :upside_down_face:

It’s low/average by modern standards I think. If they do only have 11 maps I hope that they also have 3-4 343 made forge maps ready as well, but idk if that’s even possible for them since forge might not be ready even for the studio to use.

Maybe that’s fine for some but assuming there’s nothing to do besides arena and btb at launch some will complain about it. I won’t complain as long as they have more quality maps Like behemoth and the btb map from the test.

To me I would prefer 10-11 maps of very high quality than 15-16 average maps. Map design is what may be the most important, especially in terms of replayability and player engagments.

I agree. Having played 5 of their maps so far though I think only 2 are of very high quality. Bazar is pretty good. Live fire and recharge are meh. Still though making great maps is hard, fragmentation and behemoth are amazing and better than anything from 4, and 5 easily. I’ll be happy with 4-5 great maps total.

I think you are over inflating what shooters typically launch with. They normally launch with around 10, and I know for a fact the last 2 BFs launched with around that, so I don’t see it being an issue. It will only be an issue if they are all rubbish, which we already know that is not the case.
