Three months stinks, but “cut content” isn’t coming that quickly if ever. It’s cut from launch and their top priority after it. It’s “slightly delayed content”!

To be fair to our members (and mod team) this has been the best and most nuanced discussion I’ve seen surrounding the game. It’s hard to get everyone to be reasonable and there were a few questionable posts, but I didn’t see the massive outrage I saw from other places

I would say Multiplayer and Campaign are the core features.
And I was part of software projects where hard cuts were made to hit a release window. The alternative is to ship a bugfest, no customer wants that. So you sit down and make the hard decisions

Yes your right. We know they’re having issues with forge and co-op otherwise it would be in the game at launch. Content gets cut on every game so that’s normal. The only real negative here is that forge could be more than 6 months. But we already know that because the way staten said it, he basically said 6 months or longer.
Actually I would say the post was a positive because of the multiplayer stuff in it.
I also want to say that the staff does a great job here. I also want to say I’m not negative on the game. I’m fine with 343’s plan, and if they change corses again and delay the whole campaign I would be fine with that too. I won’t truely be upset unless I can’t play the multiplayer this year.
Yeah I think that person is 100% legit a dev on the game. There is a lot of detail there that ppl would be unlikely to bother making up. They should consider letting players choose where to respawn. Would get around the design issue. Not sure about the networking issue though. Also, they should consider having important keystone triggers require all players be present in order to trigger it.

I think, in general, you and the majority of this forum was infinitely better (no pun intended) than the majority of Twitter and other sites/SM.
I’m so sorry for your loss but sadly can relate. My two brothers and I played Halo all the way through Reach together, and after my older brother and I moved out for university, we made it a weekly thing to jump online together. Thanksgivings were always our guaranteed Halo-in-person days. My little brother took his own life in 2011, so playing 4 co-op with my brother when it released in 2012 was one of the most poignant experiences I’ve had. It’s a reminder of how much gaming can bring us together and how much the people we love live on in those hobbies you’ve shared with them.

I would put co-op in there, clearly it matters to a lot of people. Can you remember the backlash when Halo 5 wasn’t going to have splitscreen? obviously playing with friends matters to a lot of people. I know things have to be removed or delayed to launch stuff but co-op to me isn’t that. I’m completely ok with forge getting the boot till later, co-op getting the boot to later just doesn’t sit well with me.
I’m just disappointed that’s all I know they’re hard at work and a lot of things have been against them so that is why I’m not as angry as I could’ve been haha. Let’s just hope the story is good because if it’s not oh boy people are going to ask for the entire 343 staff to be sacked, which people already do but it would be worse.
We still get to play Halo and that’s really what matters the most.

I’m not even a halo fan and as an outsider looking in I have to say that with the amount of toxicity and dev blaming, I feel that it was a good thing they made halo infinite a “10 year” project, any new halo should be a spinoff in that 10 years. 343 can’t please the old halo community, nope they never will from what I can see.

News sucks but it is what it is. I honestly don’t care for Halo or 343 too much at this point so I’m not really upset as I’m not invested. I still wanted the game and the studio to flourish with Infinite’s release as a fan/supporter of Xbox. Oh well.

Jeez really? They have a semi open world campaign, and full multiplayer coming. They are delaying co-op and forge. They are still a more complete package than most games.
Battlefield doesn’t have campaign. Call of duty has a linear one but like 10 studios making the game.
343 are just fine. Not only are they dealing with COVID, but they where building a new game engine durring development. That’s a lot to juggle while trying to make a game that crosses 2 generations and is on pc.
Posts like this, calling for heads is unnecessary and shouldn’t be tolerated. And the graphics are good. The multiplayer graphics look great and plenty “next gen” at 120fps. We don’t even really know what the campaign looks like, but should look better than multiplayer.

Couple months guys. Infinite is gunna come out, and be a huge success. In player numbers and reception to the campaign and multiplayer.
Hopefully after that we won’t have to hear people on these forums(and others) calling for termination of people’s jobs.

I think gamers are the most forgiving of all consumers of entertainment mediums, which can be a good AND bad thing. After MCC release, I was kinda over it. Was hoping things would change with Infinite, then the “showcase”, delay, and now this news. Forza has taken the spot of the flagship Xbox franchise for me personally, and I’m not the biggest fan of racing games lol.
I do hope Halo turns out well for those who have been waiting years for it.
