This is the primary reason I found the outage about them posting a zelda commercial so funny. Their MO has been laid bare for years now, and based on most of the reactions to their content online, specifically amongst Xbox crowds, I didnt think anyone viewed them as objective at this point anyway.
There is a video they put up in conjunction with IGN that was straight up shilling RTX cards under the guise of “explaining ray tracing”.
But I won’t be enjoying games any less after I am done with VI. Rockstar is just on a different level, they basically have unlimited budget, especially so after the cash cow that is GTAO.
I won’t be going near the game just yet, too much other things going on. However, pretty much always if there’s film grain I’ll turn it off. Hopefully they patch in a toggle for that.
As far as I recall, their testing process doesn’t support VRR so they typically never run using it. It’s very odd for an “analysis site” to focus their testing on situations that actual gamers will never experience because they would be using VRR.
One thing I’m wondering is if they get access to the day one builds before release date or if they’re just using a review copy to get all their work done sooner?
Also how quickly do they go back to check out the updates? It’s been a while since I activepy watched their content so I don’t remember.
Can’t give the better hardware an actual advantage. It’s so transparent; any time Xbox has an advantage, those elements longer. Remember how resolution stopped mattering when the One X came out and we suddenly started seeing shadow quality some sort of definitive metric?
Shadow quality or 2-3 less dropped frames in certain spots were the definitive metric even though the game run at 1080p on the PS4 Pro versus running at full 4K on the One X (yeah I still remember that hilarious Bloodstained “analysis” by Linneman…). It’s funny how they consistently trying to downplay and brush off VRR, it’s overall importance and it’s way superior implementation on the Series harfware.
Pour one out for the people sho were suckered into purchasing the pro thinking everything would run better on that overpriced lopsided piece of crap lol.
I’m seeing accusations in the usuaual places that this dev, apparently just like Indiana Jones didn’t make real use of the Pro. No use of PSSR or whatever, so of course blaming MS. However, isn’t there proof of other Xbox devs such as with FH5 that they do make use of Pro’s capabilities? Folks need to quit yapping.
Kind of funny to see Series X and PS5 Pro in the opposite positions that we saw with previous comparisons where the Xbox version tended to have higher resolution but the PS version had more consistent framerate. Maybe we’re due for a pendulum swing back to resolution being the more important aspect of the presentation.
Doesn’t seem to matter, they still seem to sell more consoles than Xbox month after month because of the mindshare. People are brainwashed into buying that brand for some reason ever since their first system. Realistically, Xbox never stood a chance
It is advised to set HDR brighness to 2.50 and HDR saturation to at least 1.10… then activate color blindness (yeah fr) settings and put the intesnity to 0 so it doesn’t impact the game image. Set the other 2 settings respectively to 80% (contrast) and 50% (brghtness) and it almost fixes it. I hope there’s some aknowledgement and quick fix from Bethesda because it’s way to dark and washed out with standard settings.
