I wouldn’t read too much into it, honestly. I don’t think that what’s on there is necessarily reflective of reality or any concrete plans. For example, The Medium is listed as being on “XB1” as well.

That’s fair, but it’s possible that at the time this report was created they were targeting the XB1 as well. I know it’s not a perfect match up, but it is interesting either way.

And this is why Apple, sadly, will win. And all their crap will stay behind their store, they will only allow one browswer and remain an iron grip on the hardware you buy and can’t repair.

The US government really needs to set up a department of tech literacy to explain this stuff to senators, representatives, judges, and so on. I happen to be available and will accept a modest salary, pension, and let’s say diplomatic immunity.

Smartphones and tablets should be considered a generic computing device. I work as an IT Manager at a school, and so many people prefer using their phones or tablets than a computer to do work. It frustrates me because they are mainly IOS based and they do not integrate well into my school’s system structure such as device monitoring. It’s even worse in Lesser Economically Developed Countries. Most people would rather have a smartphone than a computer, just to do general computer tasks. Games consoles were never considered a way to access the distant learning resources during the various COVID lock downs in the UK. Yes game hardware is becoming more similar to PCs, but they wouldn’t exist if Microsoft decided to put the full Windows experience on XBox or Sony decided to allow Linux on PlayStation with unrestricted access to system resources. Also console hardware may be missing certain extensions that PC hardware has. That’s why the AMD Ryzen SoCs are custom.

Jup, and not just that, they are sold at a profit not a loss. It is really annoying how it is completely cut off from the outside, yet you have their fanbase DEMAND that you make apps for it. Even though sometimes it’s just not possible as Apple prevents you from using that part of the hardware (Which of course they exempt themselves from, as they themselves CAN use it ).
One only has to look to the browser alone.

This case is not going well for Epic. They seem almost incompetent in their inability to produce a decent argument. Seriously, Apple’s lawyers are tearing Epic and their witnesses like Microsoft a new one. And the judge just seems completely annoyed with the Epic lawyers to boot

It’s because their legal argument within the current framework is weak and no lawyer can overcome that. If Epic wants change then they have to go through legislation and get the laws changed, but Epic obviously knows that is much harder, especially as the likes of Apple and Google will out lobby Epic.
