Absolutely!
So much worry about performance, I swear to christ it was never an issue for me in 65+ hours of actually playing it both with VRR on and off.
Hey is there any way to region bypass the game so you can play it earlier?
Want to start playing as soon as I get home
Some people have a higher tolerance, but I immediately could tell from your review footage that it was not 60fps.
I may have overhyped. Iām really enjoying digging into another Souls game after so long but, I dunno, nothing about the open world is really standing out much so far (six hours or so) compared to Fromās other games. The overworld itself is surprisingly homogenous, even standing at the edge of the current map-square and gazing across at the distant lands. Itās all the same autumnal landscapes, broken ruins and those ugly luminescent trees. So many of the reviews compared the exploration and sense of adventure to Breath of the Wild, but nothing here has come close to those first few magical hours of seeing Death Mountain smoking away far in the distance with its Divine Beast stomping about, or the variety of biomes you catch glimpses of while paragliding about. So far it reminds me more of Ghost of Tsushima than Breath of the Wild.
As someone whose played and completed every soulsbornekiro game, the performance for me on series x is shockingly bad and noticable any time I turn the camera. (I donāt have VRR)
Itās honestly off putting. Iām not enjoying the game because of it.
I only bought on my X to play early, but I canāt do it.
Iāll take my chances with the PC port.
How do I get a refund ? The purchase order history page isnāt giving me the option online for Xboxā¦
Sounds like youāre still in the first area then, trust me there is a ton of variety and insane things in the distance non-stop once youāre out of there.
Phew! Thatās really encouraging then, thanks. Yeah, Iām still in that first square of the map. I guess in Zelda you can see pretty much every major landmark from where you start on the Great Plateau - Hyrule castle, Death Mountain, the snowy mountain with the chunk out of it, Duelling Peaks, tropical forests, desert steppes, all sorts of enticing stuff - whereas in this, you pan the camera round in the first area and itās like, where is everything? Thereās the Erdtree, some other trees, some very similar-looking towers. I look forward to venturing further afield, then!
What is everybody going for, starting class wise? And what gift? Be interesting to see what you all like
I was thinking Ill go with the one that is the jack of all trades begginner type character. Because I am not good at these games and I have no idea what Im doing. But listening to the Skill Up review made me think I should go with something more spell/magic focused because he said you find A LOT of spells in the world.
I dont know. I just dont know.
Iām hopelessly addicted to lost ark but this is the most hyped Iāve ever been for a new releaseā¦gonna be a struggle dividing my time
Valve went to office the past few days only for this.
I streamed some Elden Ring (with a few spoilers I very clearly yell āstop watchingā closer to the end of the stream) First hour and 45 minutes or so are just the beginning of a new character.
I appreciate all the content and thanks for the updates in the thread as well.
How are we discussing bosses in this thread? I want to discuss the first difficult boss Iāve encountered, but donāt know if posting names is spoiler territory. Maybe posting a bossās name is ok if itās shortened to remove any spoilery qualities - as in, if the boss is called (donāt worry, making this one up) Quentin the Giant Cockroach Dandy, we can maybe talk about Quentin but leave out the part identitying him as a large fashion-conscious insect?
Itās very important to me specifically because DS3 was like a month long headache to play through. I wasnāt able to even replay the game until the BC update.
