The fastest track for Facebook, Google, or Amazon to have legitimacy within the gaming sphere is to have a recognizable brand, which is Sony.

Good point, Facebook should be interested in Sony. Lots of content, good camera tech for their surveillance dystopia and VR stuff.

The problem is that all of those companies are already in the sights of the US government and none of them would get approved. For example, the want to reverse Facebooks purchases of Whatsapp and Instagram from being anti-competitive.

So far MS has been able to avoid that level of scrutiny from the feds.

Thats a good point. But the government is slow. I personally think Whatsapp and Instagram should have never become parts of Facebook and its too late. But lets see how this develops the next couple of years.
