Fingers cross on Showcase during Direct like what they did with Starfield and its console/controller.
Youâd think so yeah, because I donât think many will bother with them when the new one comes out. Itâs perfect to drop them now so that these months leading up to release people can play them all.
Letâs go all the way.
Put Call of Duty on Xbox Series console boxes at launch. Heck make a limited edition COD Series X.
The casuals will gobble it up.
It will be telling if next Game Pass batch reveal is very small in compare.
They need those bundles with CoD front and center on the console box
I they really want the growth they are after, they will need to push the console, PC gamers dont care about the MS store/GP as evident by the numbers compared to console and cloud isnât a thing for CoD, at leats not yet
So consoles are still the most likely chance of growth
I like other outlets such as DiscussingFilm using Xbox video to spread the news, making everyone aware of its platform and more importantly, Game Pass day one. As Hulk meme would say, âHahahahahaâŚYes!â

I hope it will be a big success for them!
Heâs right about 1 thing, that is indeed very rough math
As it completely ignores things like GP members buying the premium version for $40 or whatever like Starfield/FH5 as well as the MTX gained from GP members, or them buying other things in the store, locking them into the ecosystem etc
What they lose from people buying the game they gain in many other ways
My SSD is not ready
OK, maybe I have enough free space for CoD Classic
Maybe the real gains are the friends Xbox will make along the way!
And the rest is silence. No game is too big or too small for game pass.
I wish we could ban the phrase âmove the needleâ For all the needles Sony moves on âsalesâ of hardware they also seem to be having some serious issues right now financially and with 1st party output.
Gaming discourse and gaming media is in a horrible spot right now and actual gamers are better off ignoring that crap and just playing games.
Most do, its the terminally online twitter warriors that donât play games that are the âneedle moverâ type folks
They can offer free perks/early access for GPU, but those items can be bought on other platforms. Not âexclusiveâ then.
Great to see the news confirmed. Guess its TBC whether we will see a price rise, but either way this is hopefully good news
Hopefully Xbox go to town on marketing this, this feels like a real opportunity.
Agree with whatâs noted upthread about âmoving the needleâ I see on other forums people downplaying the significance of this, but really now that Xbox can market this, and can shout about it being on Gamepass, they really should make sure thereâs nobody who doesnât know that if you pick up gamepass this autumn, you can play
COD Indy Avowed Starfield Hellblade 2 (eh, if you like).
What would make this absolutely kill would be if they also announced some massive Gamepass titles for February too.
What I expect we will see is something similar to this:
- Standard: $69 | Deluxe: $109 (Game Pass users can buy the Deluxe upgrade for $35)
- Both Standard and Deluxe will include early beta access and maybe early campaign access.
- Deluxe will include the Battle Pass + exclusive operators or something similar to years past.
- Throughout the year, Game Pass Ultimate users will also receive perks like free COD points or Operator bundles. In addition, all Game Pass users will receive 10% off all microtransactions just by the nature of it being a Game Pass title.
At the end, as long as the content is available on all platforms, Microsoft can offer whatever they want through Game Pass. Microsoft could offer every single battle pass as an Ultimate perk if they wanted to. They wonât, but they could.
Yeah things donât need to be exclusive to the xbox platform, they can just be a lot cheaper via things like GP, none of the contracts they signed stop that
Like both can have early access via the Deluve/Vault edition or whatever but if GP members can get it for a $35/40 upgrade, obviously thatâs the much better deal
