Antstream Arcade Brings its 1300+ Library of Retro Games to Xbox Consoles

Gave it a spin this morning, I really like it. I have a MAME arcade machine that can play these games already… and if I’m being honest, that’s still the better way to play these games… but that said it’s a lot of fun just jumping into random retro games on Xbox. Antstream does a good job of showing different playlists like trending or newly added and it kinda made me feel like I was randomly selecting games just like a real arcade has that same randomness to it :grinning:. Anyway I recommend it. Price is a little steep, but if they can support it for a lifetime like they promise then it will be worth it.

I will say though, if you are interested in collections like this and are of the age that arcades bring you nostalgia, you should also consider getting a MAME arcade machine. Me and my son play our arcade machine a lot, they aren’t that expensive, at least if you are going to actually use it and not just buy it to sit collecting dust.

Hmmm, two games in a row just froze / locked up on me. Not like how when a normal Xbox game freezes and kicks you to the Home Screen or reboots your Xbox. When an antstream game freezes you just have a locked pause screen on the game. You can still hit the select / window button on the Xbox controller and quit the game to the antstream game select menu.

Once is a fluke, two games freezing consecutively… there might be some major bug issues with this game. Proceed with caution :warning:

I have had no games freeze in roughly 10-12 hours of playing games on the service.

Series S with Wi-Fi if that makes a difference.

Interesting. I am wired so that could be. (Series X)

Which games were they? Maybe I’ll try them later.
